Chapter 3 - The Captain’s Log and the Secret Cargo

The yacht cut silently through the waves as I calmly walked back inside the climate-controlled master suite. My hands were steady now. The lethargy was completely gone, burned away by pure, unadulterated survival instinct.

I bypassed the bedroom and headed straight down the secure internal service corridor toward the yacht’s main bridge and the captain’s communication room. Flynn’s parents—Aidan and Fiona—were likely waiting in the luxury lounge on the middle deck, sipping more champagne, eagerly watching the clock tick toward midnight, waiting for the news that their multi-million-dollar jackpot had been successfully deposited into the abyss.

I needed proof before I struck back at them.

The bridge door was unlocked; Flynn trusted his security codes too much. I slipped inside, sitting down at the central navigation terminal. With a few quick keystrokes, I accessed the yacht's master digital log.

There it was. An encrypted file labeled Sterling Trust Transfer.

I opened it. My breath caught in my throat. It wasn't just a power of attorney. It was a complete corporate takeover document, digitally forged using my biometric signature—stolen while I slept during our engagement trip in Zurich. More than that, there were recorded audio logs between Flynn, Aidan, and Fiona conspiring with a network of international offshore fixers to liquidate my father’s entire manufacturing conglomerate, followed by plans for the "tragic accident" targeting my parents in the mountains next week.

I plugged a secure flash drive into the terminal and downloaded every single byte of data, transferring the encrypted evidence directly to my father’s private encrypted server, as well as to the maritime federal authorities and my family's elite legal team in New York.

"Well, well, well. Look who’s wandering around past her bedtime."

A cold, mocking voice echoed from the doorway of the bridge.

I spun around. Fiona stood there in a silk evening gown, holding a half-empty glass of champagne, her face twisted into a vicious, ugly sneer. Behind her loomed Aidan, his eyes narrowed like a pair of rusted iron nails.

"Where is Flynn?" Aidan demanded, stepping inside and blocking the exit. "He should have finished the job ten minutes ago. Did the drugs wear off, you little ungrateful parasite?"

I didn't cower. I stood up straight, smoothing down my dress, looking at them not with fear, but with the cold, absolute authority of a billionaire heiress who owned the very deck they were standing on.

"Flynn took a little swim," I said smoothly, a chilling smile touching my lips. "He wanted to see the ocean up close. I'm sure he'll reach the bottom any minute now."

Fiona’s glass slipped from her fingers, shattering against the steel floor, the amber champagne splashing across her designer shoes like fresh blood.
