Chapter 3 - THE ARRIVAL OF THE ROYAL STANDARDBy 10:45 AM, five hundred elite guests were seated under the soaring glass pavilion. The morning sun illuminated the floral arrangements composed of rare white orchids imported from Singapore. Evelyn Hawthorne sat in the front row, holding court like a queen receiving homage. Madison sat beside her, looking smug.

At the front of the altar, Daniel stood nervously, tugging at his collar. The string quartet began playing a soft classical piece.

"Where is she?" Evelyn whispered loudly to her husband. "Probably struggling to zip up that dreadful cheap dress."

Suddenly, a strange, low thrumming sound echoed across the valley.

It started as a vibration in the ground, subtle at first, then growing into a deep, thunderous roar that rattled the champagne flutes on the catering tables. The string quartet stopped playing, their bows hovering above their violins in confusion.

"What is that?" someone in the third row shouted. "Is there an earthquake?"

The sky above the hills north of the estate suddenly darkened. Five massive, sleek military-grade heavy transport helicopters—painted in deep midnight blue with gold crests on their tails—descended over the tree line. They flew in a tight, flawless tactical V-formation.

"What on earth is going on?" Evelyn demanded, standing up and squinting into the bright sky. "Charles, did you authorize a flyover? This is incredibly disruptive!"

"No," Charles said, his face going pale as he recognized the crests on the fuselages. "Those aren't commercial choppers. Those are sovereign military escorts."

The massive helicopters didn't fly past. They hovered directly above the grand lawn of Hawthorne Hall. The powerful downdraft kicked up a tempest of wind, blowing away the million-dollar floral arches, knocking over velvet ropes, and sending high-fashion hats flying across the estate. Guests screamed, clutching their dresses and suits in panic.

Before security could react, two black armored SUV motorcades burst through the main security gates of the estate, ignoring the guards who frantically waved their arms. Following the SUVs were twelve open-top tactical vehicles carrying soldiers dressed in striking silver-and-blue dress uniforms, armed with assault rifles and bearing double-headed golden eagle insignia on their shoulders.

"Security! Get security out here right now!" Evelyn shrieked, her immaculate hairstyle completely ruined by the roaring wind.

The lead helicopter touched down directly on the manicured polo field, its massive rotors slowing to a heavy hum. The side doors flew open.

Twenty royal guards leaped out, forming a double line from the helicopter door straight toward the wedding aisle. They snapped to sharp attention, drawing polished silver sabers and holding them upward in a flawless military arch.

The five hundred elite guests sat frozen in absolute silence and sheer terror.

From the main helicopter stepped a tall, imposing man in his early thirties. He wore a sharp, tailored military dress uniform adorned with medals, a sash of state honor, and a golden crest on his lapel. His presence radiated absolute, unquestioned power.

Beside him walked an elderly man with silver hair, carrying a leather-bound diplomatic briefcase and wearing the traditional robes of a Sovereign Grand Chancellor.

"Is that...?" A visiting U.S. Senator in the second row gasped, standing up so fast his chair fell over. "My God. That's Crown Prince Adrian of the Grand Duchy of Valenbourg!"

"Valenbourg?" Evelyn stammered, looking at the senator in confusion. "The sovereign European state? The world's largest private holder of sovereign wealth and rare minerals?"

"They own half the banking infrastructure in Europe!" the senator whispered in horror. "What are they doing at your son's wedding?"

Prince Adrian marched down the lawn, flanked by armed guards. He ignored the terrified guests and walked straight past Evelyn, his boots crunching on the glass fragments left on the stone walkway. He stopped three feet from Daniel Hawthorne.

Daniel stood paralyzed, staring at the royal prince.

Prince Adrian looked Daniel up and down, his eyes cold and evaluating. "Are you Daniel Hawthorne?"

"I... I am," Daniel managed to say, his voice cracking.

Prince Adrian did not offer a hand. He turned his head toward the grand balcony of Hawthorne Hall.

"Bring forth Her Royal Highness," Prince Adrian ordered in a voice that echoed across the entire estate.
