Chapter 7 - A ROYAL WEDDING TO REMEMBERThe chaos of the morning dissolved into an unforgettable spectacle of true majesty.

While Evelyn and Charles were escorted quietly into the main house by security—their era of aristocratic tyranny over the family officially at an end—the remaining guests were invited to witness a wedding unlike any America had ever seen.

The Royal Guard formed an aisle of honour across the manicured green lawn. The sovereign chaplain, dressed in vestments of spun gold, stepped forward onto the altar pavilion.

Sophie, now standing tall and proud as the newly appointed head of the Hawthorne legacy, stood by Nora's side as her maid of honor. Prince Adrian, having seen the true character of the man his sister chose, stood beside Daniel as his best man, placing a strong, supportive hand on Daniel's shoulder.

"If you ever hurt my sister, Daniel," Adrian murmured with a subtle, protective smile, "I have an entire military division at my disposal."

Daniel smiled back, looking straight into the prince's eyes. "If I ever hurt her, Your Highness, I’ll let you drop them on me."

Adrian chuckled, a genuine warmth replacing his cold exterior. "You'll do just fine, brother-in-law."

As the royal brass ensemble began to play the traditional Valenbourg Anthem of Joy, Nora walked down the aisle. Her long silver veil drifted gracefully on the mountain breeze. Five hundred guests—who had arrived expecting a high-society circus of cruelty—watched in awe as true royalty showed the world the meaning of grace, power, and mercy.

Under the bright blue sky, surrounded by sovereign guards and silver sabers, Daniel and Princess Helena exchanged their vows.

"I give you my title, my fortune, and my life," Helena said, placing a gold royal band on Daniel's finger. "But most importantly, I give you my truth."

"I give you my heart, my freedom, and my future," Daniel replied, placing a ring on her finger. "Unburdened by the past."

"By the power vested in me by the Sovereign Crown and Almighty God," the chaplain announced, his voice echoing over the quiet mountains, "I pronounce you Husband and Wife. Prince Consort Daniel and Princess Helena of Valenbourg!"

The crowd erupted into thunderous applause. The U.S. Senator cheered loudly, leading a standing ovation that echoed across the valley.

Daniel leaned in and kissed his bride—a long, passionate kiss that sealed their new life together.

Outside the gates, six heavy transport helicopters fired their engines in unison, letting out a magnificent roar as they launched white smoke flares into the clear sky, marking the official royal union.

Two hours later, as the golden hour set over the Hudson Valley, a luxurious open-top vintage convertible pulled up to the front of the estate. Nora had changed into a elegant white silk travel dress, her royal tiara resting safely in a velvet case. Daniel stood beside her, wearing a simple, sharp navy suit—unburdened, free, and happier than he had ever been in his life.

Sophie ran down the steps and embraced them both tightly. "Thank you," she whispered to Nora. "You saved me. You saved this family from destroying itself."

"You saved yourself the moment you chose to tell the truth, Sophie," Nora replied gently. "Run the empire well."

Daniel hugged his sister, then took Nora’s hand as they climbed into the convertible.

As the car rolled down the long, winding driveway of Hawthorne Hall, Nora turned back one last time. In the distance, standing behind a high curtain on the second floor of the mansion, was Evelyn Hawthorne, looking down at the departing car in solitary, bitter silence—a queen of nothing, watching the real monarchs drive away into the sunset.

Daniel reached over, wrapping his arm around Nora’s shoulders as the wind whipped through her hair.

"Where are we going, Princess?" Daniel asked with a bright, genuine smile.

May you like

Nora rested her head on his shoulder, looking out at the open road ahead, where a bright, beautiful, and limitless future awaited them both.

"Wherever we want, Daniel," she smiled softly. "Wherever we want."
