Chapter 26 - The Convergence in Denver

By Thursday evening, the tension in downtown Denver had reached a boiling point. Daniel had flown back from a brief business trip, meeting up with Noah—who had taken a red-eye flight straight from Boston—and Marcus Vance at a secure law office near the state capitol. The conference room table was covered in high-resolution digital printouts, bank wire logs, and the damning evidence Chloe Vance had recovered from her family’s antique travel trunk.

“This is checkmate,” Noah announced, pointing a laser pointer at a flow chart connecting Robert Sterling directly to the offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands. “Sterling signed off on the fraudulent asset reclassifications just forty-eight hours ago. If we present this to the federal magistrate Thursday night, we can secure a warrant for corporate racketeering before Friday morning’s board meeting.”

Daniel looked at his son with immense pride, marveling at the sharp intellect and unwavering courage Noah displayed. The seventeen-year-old boy who had once walked into the Aspen cabin with white earbuds in his ears and teenage apathy written all over his face was now a brilliant legal strategist capable of outsmarting seasoned corporate criminals.

“Your grandmother is already waiting for us at the penthouse suite near the corporate headquarters,” Daniel said, resting a proud hand on Noah’s shoulder. “She wants us all united when we walk through those boardroom doors tomorrow morning.”

Noah nodded, sliding the files back into his leather briefcase. “Let’s go, Dad. It’s time to finish what we started a year ago.”
