Chapter 52 - The Thanksgiving Gathering

By late November, the first heavy snows of the winter season had once again transformed Aspen into a glittering wonderland. Thanksgiving approached with a deep, palpable sense of gratitude and joy across the entire family.
This year, the gathering at the mountain cabin was even larger and more meaningful. Not only were Daniel and Noah present, but Chloe Vance had also accepted an invitation to spend the holiday weekend with them, having fully integrated into a supportive, honest circle of friends who valued character above superficial wealth.
On Thanksgiving afternoon, the rustic dining table was laden with a magnificent feast: roasted turkey, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, and freshly baked pumpkin pies. Before anyone touched their plates, Daniel stood up, raising his glass in a quiet toast.
"Let us give thanks," Daniel began, his voice thick with genuine emotion, "for health, for resilience, and above all, for truth. We’ve walked through the darkest storms together, and we’ve proven that greed and deception can never destroy a foundation built on love and accountability."
"Hear, hear," Noah echoed, smiling warmly as he clinked his glass against his father’s and Chloe’s.

As they shared their meal, laughed over fond memories, and looked out at the breathtaking snow-covered peaks outside, Eleanor looked around the table with a profound sense of peace. The bitter cold of past betrayals was entirely gone, replaced by the everlasting warmth of family unity.
