Chapter 28 - The Final Exposure

Eleanor stopped five feet from the head of the table, her piercing gaze locking onto Robert Sterling with the intensity of a predator cornering its prey. She didn’t raise her voice; she didn’t need to. Her quiet, icy composure commanded total silence across the entire room.

“Sit down, Robert,” Eleanor commanded, her voice ringing with absolute authority. “Your little game of corporate treason is officially over.”

Robert forced a weak, nervous chuckle, though his hands were shaking violently as he tried to button his suit jacket. “You’re delusional, Eleanor! Age has clearly clouded your judgment. Security, escort these trespassers out of the building immediately!”

Not a single security guard moved. Instead, Noah stepped forward, holding a sleek aluminum briefcase. He flipped the latches open, pulled out a thick stack of certified bank statements and signed wire transfer logs, and slid them across the polished mahogany table directly toward Robert’s coffee cup.

“You might want to review Exhibit A before you call security, Mr. Sterling,” Noah said, his voice steady, clear, and professional. “A complete transactional record of the three point five million dollars you siphoned from the corporate reserve accounts into your private offshore holding company in the Cayman Islands, utilizing falsified vendor signatures and forged board resolutions.”

Robert glanced down at the documents, and the last remnants of his arrogant facade shattered completely. He staggered backward, his hip hitting the back of his executive leather chair, while the twelve board members stared at him in utter disgust and horror. One by one, the board members stood up from their chairs, gathered their portfolios, and walked silently out of the room, abandoning Robert to his inevitable fate.
