Chapter 12 - A Father's PromiseThe morning sun broke over Atlanta in a brilliant cascade of gold and amber light, washing away the lingering tensions of the night before. Inside the bright, airy sunroom of the Buckhead estate, Lila sat at her craft table, happily coloring a large picture of a golden retriever with a box of new crayons.

Vincent walked into the room, holding a small plate of sliced strawberries and a glass of fresh orange juice. He knelt beside her chair, setting the plate down gently on the wooden surface.

"Good morning, artist," Vincent smiled softly, brushing a stray lock of dark hair away from her forehead.

Lila looked up, her amber eyes sparkling with vibrant, unclouded clarity. "Good morning, Daddy! Look, I'm drawing the dog we saw in the park last week. Can we get a real puppy now that my eyes are all better?"

Vincent chuckled, a warm, genuine sound that reached his eyes for the first time in months. "A puppy? Well, I suppose a big estate like this needs a proper watchdog. We'll look at adoption shelters this weekend, I promise."

Lila squealed with delight, throwing her small arms around his neck and burying her face in his shoulder. Vincent held her tight, closing his eyes as a profound sense of gratitude washed over him. Every enemy had been neutralized, every threat systematically dismantled, and his little girl was safe, healthy, and happy.

Marcus appeared quietly in the arched doorway of the sunroom, clearing his throat respectfully. Vincent gently kissed the top of Lila's head and stood up, stepping out into the hallway to speak with his most trusted enforcer.

"What is it, Marcus?" Vincent asked, keeping his voice low so Lila couldn't hear.

"Federal authorities in Geneva just executed the international warrant," Marcus reported with a satisfied smirk. "Alexander Vance was intercepted at Zurich International Airport attempting to board a private flight to the Cayman Islands. His assets have been completely frozen by Swiss banking regulators, and the pharmaceutical board has initiated a full revocation of his corporate licenses."

"And Elena and Dr. Harrison Vance?" Vincent asked.

"Federal marshals took custody of them an hour ago from our warehouse. They're being transferred to a federal penitentiary to await trial on multiple counts of conspiracy, poisoning, and illegal human experimentation. They'll never see the light of day again, Boss."

Vincent nodded slowly, looking back into the sunroom where Lila was humming a cheerful tune while coloring her drawing. The dark storm that had threatened to tear his world apart had finally passed, leaving behind a sky as clear and bright as his daughter's future.

"Good," Vincent said softly. "Let's keep it that way. From now on, our only business is protecting our family."
