Chapter 9 - The Siege of BuckheadMidnight draped the sprawling Buckhead estate in thick, brooding shadows. The security perimeter lights hummed quietly, casting long amber beams across the manicured lawns and stone fountains. Inside the master study, Vincent sat in total darkness, his eyes locked onto the multi-feed security monitor on his desk.

On screen three, infrared motion sensors flared to life near the southern perimeter wall, half a mile deep into the private forest surrounding the estate. Four figures clad in matte-black tactical gear, wearing thermal-imaging helmets and carrying suppressed submachine guns, dropped silently over the wrought-iron fence.
"Professional," Vincent muttered to himself, checking the slide of his firearm with a crisp, mechanical click. "Swiss mercenaries. They move like ghosts, but they picked the wrong yard to hunt in."
He keyed his encrypted earpiece, connecting directly to Marcus and his quick-reaction force stationed in the subterranean garage. "Marcus, they’re in the southern sector. Let them cross the open garden. Do not engage until they reach the greenhouse. I want them bunched together."
"Copy that, Boss. We've got the perimeter sealed. No local police alerts, no witnesses. Just us," Marcus whispered back.
Through the night-vision camera feeds, Vincent watched the four-man tactical team advance with chilling precision. They fanned out across the dew-covered lawn, utilizing the stone statues and manicured hedge mazes for cover. They were looking for an entry point into the main residence—likely aiming for the ground-floor library doors.
As the lead mercenary reached the glass-paneled threshold of the estate's sprawling greenhouse, Vincent pressed the master override switch on his desk control panel.
CLACK-HISS.
Sudden, blinding stadium-grade floodlights erupted around the entire garden, turning the pitch-black night into blazing daylight. Simultaneously, automated security turrets—concealed within the architectural stonework of the roof overhangs—locked onto the mercenaries, emitting a high-pitched, terrifying warning tone.
"Drop your weapons!" Marcus’s amplified voice boomed from the hidden speakers across the estate grounds, backed by the distinct, menacing metallic sound of half a dozen assault rifles cocking simultaneously from the surrounding balconies.
The lead mercenary froze, instantly realizing they had walked directly into a well-laid trap. Instead of surrendering, however, he raised his suppressed weapon toward the roof turret, screaming an order to his squad in rapid German.
RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!
The night erupted into a deafening symphony of gunfire. Security glass shattered across the greenhouse roof, but the automated counter-measures were instantaneous. Marcus's snipers, positioned in the third-floor servant quarters, fired precise, non-lethal neutralizing rounds—rubber-jacketed steel slugs designed to break bones without ending lives on the spot.
Within ninety seconds, the brief, violent skirmish was over. Two mercenaries lay groaning on the grass with shattered shoulders; the other two dropped their weapons, raising their hands slowly into the illuminated night air as a dozen of Vincent's heavily armed enforcers swarmed out from the shadows, zip-tying their wrists with ruthless efficiency.

Vincent stepped out onto the second-floor balcony, looking down at the defeated tactical team below. His expression was cold, majestic, and terrifyingly calm.
"Tell Alexander Vance," Vincent called out into the night air, his voice carrying effortlessly across the courtyard, "that if he ever sends a message to my home again, I won't send his men back broken. I’ll send them back in pieces."
