Chapter 27 - The Grand OpeningSpring in Atlanta arrived with an explosion of vibrant colors—blooming dogwood trees, lush emerald lawns, and a warm, golden sun that bathed the city in breathtaking radiance.

It was the day of the grand opening for the Moretti Pediatric Vision Institute—a state-of-the-art medical facility funded entirely by the Moretti Foundation, dedicated to providing advanced, free ophthalmic care to children suffering from rare degenerative eye disorders.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew hundreds of prominent guests, including renowned medical specialists from Johns Hopkins and Harvard, city officials, journalists, and grateful families from across the American Southeast.
Vincent Moretti stood near the entrance of the grand glass-and-steel atrium, dressed in an impeccably tailored charcoal suit, holding a silver ceremonial pair of scissors. Beside him stood seven-year-old Lila, wearing a beautiful white summer dress with a golden sash, her amber eyes sparkling with radiant joy, health, and absolute clarity.
“Are you ready, sweetheart?” Vincent asked softly, resting a warm, protective hand on her shoulder.
“Ready, Daddy!” Lila beamed, looking up at him with pure adoration. “Cut the ribbon so the other kids can get their light back too!”
A chorus of warm laughter and enthusiastic applause rippled through the gathered crowd of hundreds. Flashbulbs popped continuously as Vincent stepped forward, holding the silver scissors high, and cleanly sliced through the thick red silk ribbon, officially opening the doors to the institute.
As the heavy glass doors slid open, inviting the bright morning sunlight to flood into the magnificent atrium, the crowd erupted into a thunderous, emotional standing ovation.
