Chapter 76 - The Winter Solstice Celebration at Home

On the evening of the winter solstice in 2031, I hosted our traditional intimate dinner party at my home overlooking the sparkling lights of the Hartwell State campus.
The snow fell softly outside, blanketing the pine trees and walkways in pristine white, while inside, the fireplace crackled with a warm, amber glow. Seated around the dining table were Uncle Arthur, Donna, Curtis, and Dr. Everett Hail. We shared a magnificent meal, laughed over humorous academic anecdotes, and toasted to the extraordinary milestones we had conquered together.

Later in the evening, as we sat by the fire sipping hot cider, Donna looked across the room at me with glistening eyes. "Do you ever pinch yourself, Chloe?" she asked softly. "Looking at where you started, and looking at where you are now?"
"Every single day, Donna," I smiled, looking around the room at the people who had loved and supported me unconditionally. "But I don't regret a single step of the journey. Every mop stroke, every statistical equation, and every closed door taught me how to build something permanent. We didn't just survive the past—we built our own table, set our own rules, and secured a future that can never be taken away."
