Chapter 47 - The Winter WonderlandBack in Columbus, our home was a beacon of warmth, light, and holiday magic.

The December snow fell in thick, soft flakes outside, blanketing our suburban neighborhood in pristine white. Inside, the house radiated the joyful spirit of Christmas. A magnificent, eight-foot evergreen tree stood proudly in the living room corner, decorated with sparkling fairy lights, delicate glass ornaments, and handmade crafts.
Alex, Ethan, and I spent the afternoon baking gingerbread cookies in the kitchen, filling the air with the rich, comforting scents of cinnamon, vanilla, and molasses. Laughter echoed off the walls as Ethan playfully tossed a dusting of flour across the counter toward Alex, prompting a cheerful flour-fight that left us all laughing uncontrollably.
Later that evening, as snow continued to fall outside, we gathered in the living room by the crackling fireplace.
Ethan sat comfortably on the couch, wrapped in a thick fleece blanket, drinking hot cocoa with extra marshmallows. I sat beside him, resting my head against Alex’s shoulder as the soft glow of the Christmas tree lights washed over our faces.

"This is the best Christmas ever," Ethan sighed happily, looking around the room with sparkling eyes.
"It really is, buddy," I whispered, holding my son close. "It really is."
