Chapter 49 - The Unbreakable BondOn the first sunlit Saturday of the new year, Ethan and I took a quiet walk through our neighborhood park. The crisp winter air was refreshing, and the morning sun glinted off the melting snow on the paved pathways.

Ethan rolled his wheelchair smoothly beside me, his hands resting confidently on the rubber-coated hand-rims. He was taller now, carrying himself with the poised dignity of a young man who knew his own worth and walked proudly in his own light.

"Mom," Ethan said softly, breaking the gentle morning quiet.

"Yes, sweetheart?" I turned, smiling down at him.

"Do you ever look back at how things used to be and feel sad?" he asked, his intelligent eyes searching mine.

I paused, taking a slow, deep breath of the crisp air, before shaking my head with absolute certainty.

"Not anymore, buddy," I said, taking his small, warm hand in mine as we walked together. "Because every single heartbreak led us to where we are today. We didn't lose anything that was real, Ethan. We only shed what was false."

Ethan smiled—a bright, radiant grin that cleared away any lingering shadows of the past once and for all.

"Then let's keep moving forward," Ethan said happily. "The future looks amazing."
