Chapter 34 - Crossing the Atlantic

The British Airways first-class cabin was quiet, bathed in soft, warm amber reading lights as the Boeing 777 soared smoothly above the dark, endless expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Sandy rested her head comfortably against Julian’s shoulder, her left hand intertwined with his, the platinum lotus ring catching the dim cabin illumination.
"Are you sleeping, my love?" Julian whispered softly, pressing a gentle kiss into her hair.
"Not even close," Sandy murmured, smiling as she looked out the triple-paned window into the star-studded night. "I'm just marveling at how quiet the world looks from up here. A year ago, my entire existence felt like a deafening hurricane of other people's expectations. Now... it's just peace."
"London is going to love you, Sandy," Julian promised, wrapping his arm securely around her shoulders. "And you're going to revolutionize the European arts and marketing scene. Just wait until you see our new flat near Mayfair. It has a conservatory that reminds me of the botanical garden where we got married."
"Only if you promise to let me design the interior marketing layout without your artistic interference," she teased lightly, turning her head to meet his gaze.
May you like
Julian laughed softly, pulling her closer for a tender, lingering kiss. "Deal. No layout interference. I leave the brilliance entirely to you."
As the plane raced eastward toward the dawn of a brand-new continent, Sandy closed her eyes, knowing with absolute certainty that the best chapters of her life were still waiting to be written.
