Later that evening, after the adrenaline of the summit had faded, Sandy and Julian returned to their Tribeca penthouse. The city outside was bathed in the soft, romantic glow of nighttime streetlights, while inside, absolute peace reigned.
Winston trotted over to greet them, dropping a squeaky toy at Julian’s feet before rolling over onto his back for belly rubs. Sandy kicked off her heels, letting out a long, contented sigh of pure relaxation as she walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Julian walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his chin comfortably on her shoulder. "You were magnificent today, my love. You inspired thousands of people out there."
Sandy covered his hands with hers, looking out at the glittering skyline of Manhattan. "I wasn't trying to inspire them with fairy tales, Julian. I was just showing them the beauty of real life. Life isn't about avoiding storms; it's about learning how to dance in the rain and rebuild when the walls come down."
