Chapter 35 - Landing in London

Heathrow Airport was a bustling maze of international travelers, business executives, and flashing arrival boards as Sandy and Julian stepped off the flight into the crisp, invigorating morning air of the British capital. A private car service was waiting just outside the VIP arrivals terminal, holding a polished placard bearing the name Miller-Vance.

The drive into central London was a masterclass in architectural elegance—red double-decker buses navigating historic Georgian squares, grand stone facades draped in ivy, and the majestic sweep of the River Thames glistening under a dramatic, cloud-draped English sky.

Their new residence in Mayfair was breathtaking. Located on a quiet, tree-lined cobblestone street, the historic four-story townhouse featured soaring ceilings, intricate crown moldings, and a magnificent glass-roofed conservatory that flooded the interior with natural light.

"Well," Julian said, dropping their luggage bags in the expansive marble entryway and wrapping his arms around Sandy from behind as she gazed out into the lush private courtyard. "What do you think? Does Mayfair pass the marketing audit?"

Sandy smiled, leaning back against his chest. "It passes with flying colors, Mr. Vance. Though I suspect we're going to need a much larger art budget to fill all these walls."

"Consider it done," Julian laughed. "After all, I know an exceptional agency director who can handle the acquisitions."

Within days, Sandy immersed herself in establishing Apex Media's European division. Her sharp strategic mind, combined with her unshakeable confidence and authentic leadership style, quickly earned her the respect of London’s elite curators, luxury fashion houses, and tech innovators. She wasn't just surviving in a new city; she was dominating it on her own terms.
