Chapter 86 - The Boardroom Battlefield

The mahogany boardroom of Sterling-Vance Enterprises was packed to absolute capacity. Sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, illuminating the tense faces of the senior board members. Whispers rippled through the room as Elena walked in, wearing a sharp, tailored white suit, her head held high.
Seated at the far end was Arthur Sterling, her primary detractor and a long-time puppet of Victor's faction. He smirked, adjusting his silk tie.
"Well, Miss Vance," Arthur began, his voice dripping with condescension. "Word on the street is your personal accounts were drained and your uncle has returned from the dead to reclaim his throne. Do you really expect us to maintain confidence in your leadership under such chaotic circumstances?"
Elena didn't blink. She calmly placed a thick manila folder on the polished table and slid it across to him.
"Read page four, Arthur," Elena replied evenly.
Arthur frowned, opening the folder. As his eyes scanned the printed financial disclosures and federal indictment records, all the color drained from his face. His hands began to shake visibly.
"This... this is an audit of your secret kickbacks with Victor," Arthur stammered, looking up in sheer terror.
May you like
"Indeed," Elena said, her voice cutting through the silent room like a razor. "Every single transaction, every proxy vote you manipulated, and every penny you embezzled from the pension fund. You have exactly ten seconds to tender your resignation, or I hand this directly to the United States Attorney General."
The room fell dead silent. Arthur swallowed hard, realizing he had been thoroughly outmaneuvered. With trembling fingers, he pulled out a pen and signed his resignation letter on the spot.
