Before diving back into the day-to-day operations of Sterling-Vance Enterprises, Elena and Marcus sat in the executive office for one final ceremonial task—closing out the legacy audit files of the corrupt Vanguard faction.
Elena picked up a thick, red stamp that read PAID IN FULL & RESOLVED, pressing it firmly onto the final dossier of her uncle's frozen accounts. The funds recovered from the illegal syndicates had been legally transferred entirely into a newly established philanthropic foundation dedicated to supporting orphaned children and victims of corporate fraud.
Marcus leaned against the edge of the desk, watching her with a fond smile. "Feels good to finally close the book on that chapter."
"It does," Elena agreed, setting the stamp down and looking around the sunlit office. "The past can't hurt us anymore. We rewrote the rules."
