Chapter 93 - Unspoken Truths

The flickering candlelight cast a warm, golden glow across the wooden patio of the beachfront villa. A gentle ocean breeze carried the sweet scent of tropical flowers and salt. Across the candlelit table, Marcus looked at Elena, the usual corporate urgency entirely absent from his demeanor, replaced by a quiet, deep tenderness.

"You know," Marcus began, swirling the remaining wine in his glass, "when we first started working together, I thought you were just another ruthless heir trying to protect a dying dynasty."

Elena raised an eyebrow, a playful smile playing on her lips. "And what do you think now?"

"Now?" Marcus chuckled softly, leaning forward. "I think you're the most resilient, brilliant, and genuinely compassionate person I have ever known. You took every blow they dealt you and turned it into armor, without ever losing your heart."

Elena felt a warm flush rise to her cheeks. She looked down at her glass, suddenly finding the condensation fascinating. "I couldn't have done it without you, Marcus. You were my anchor when everything else was falling apart."

"I'll always be your anchor, Elena," Marcus said, his voice dropping to a low, earnest register. He reached across the table, gently placing his hand over hers.

His touch sent a familiar, electric thrill straight through her heart—one that had been growing steadily stronger through every crisis they had faced together.
